Congratulations, invitation, and prayers from the Association of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah in Iraq

The Association of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah in Iraq extends its congratulations and blessings to our people in Iraq, and to the sons of our Arab and Islamic nation, on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, "the month of the Holy Quran," the book with which Allah honored the nation, elevating its status when it adhered to it, making it the best nation brought forth for mankind, leading the world, and establishing a civilization of peace, values, science, and justice unparalleled in the history of civilizations.

On this occasion, the Association calls upon the entire nation, both leaders and peoples, to act according to this great book to regain its stature, raising the banner of peace, freedom, and values, and warns against abandoning the book of Allah, lest we return to our former ignorance; where division and corruption prevail; thus, falling under the oppression of our enemies as before Islam.

O our nation, this is the book of Allah; through it, souls are purified from their ailments, and societies are cleansed from the vices of their enemies. Allah Almighty said, "Indeed, Allah conferred a great favor on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting unto them His Verses, and purifying them, and teaching them the Book (the Quran) and wisdom, although before that they had been in manifest error" (3:164).

This is the book of guidance and good tidings: "Indeed, this Quran guides to that which is most just and right and gives glad tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they shall have a great reward" (17:9).

So, the month of the Quran has come upon you, seize it, contemplate its verses, and act according to its rulings. For those who abandon it, Allah will humiliate them; those who rule by it will be just; those who speak by it will be truthful; and those who leave it will be forsaken.

May Allah accept the fasting and prayers of the fasting and the standing. May Allah protect our nation from the plots of its enemies. May Allah grant us victory over our enemies. May Allah protect our wounded Iraq and save it from every wicked conspirator. May Allah protect our people in Palestine and grant them victory over the aggressing Zionists. May Allah make the leaders of the nation the best of it and keep it away from the worst of it. And may the nation be in the best state every year.
