The Sunni Association in Iraq / Provisions of recitation

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful

Among the provisions of recitation and recitation

Praise be to God in the morning and in the evening, and may peace and blessings be upon His Prophet, who recited the Qur’an in a beautiful manner. As for what follows:

Tartiling: is reading the Qur’an calmly, without rushing, with as much contemplation of the meanings as possible and taking into account the rules of recitation. This is a characteristic inherent in all three levels of reading, as it includes them all. When the Noble Qur’an was revealed with it, and God commanded His Prophet with it, he said: “And recite the Qur’an with a chant.” Al-Hasan Al-Basri said: “Read it clearly.”

Tajweed: It is slowness, deliberation, and giving each letter its due level of deepening and achieving the hamza. People call it “Tajweed,” and it is the recommended level in the position of learning. It is to avoid stretching and exaggeration in ghannats and other things, and excessive saturation of the vowels; So that it does not generate an extra letter.

Al-Hadr: It is the inclusion of reading, its speed, and the mitigation of the rules of recitation, including its exits and attributes, without negligence, and it is the opposite of investigation.

Durability: It is the mediation between investigation and Hadr, taking into account the provisions of recitation.

To facilitate the division, reading is divided into four levels in terms of time and reading speed:

1. Quick reading, such as reciting Al-Fatihah in secret prayers, so that fifteen to twenty minutes are enough to read the part, and hours (7:30 - 10:00) for the conclusion.

2. Reciting the well-known recitation, such as reciting Tarawih and aloud prayers, so that it is sufficient to recite the part about half an hour or a little more, and approximately fifteen hours for the end, and in our time; Many imams of mosques recite a part every night to complete one part in Ramadan, and some of them do more than that, and some of them complete it every three nights in Ramadan - meaning ten parts each night - like Sheikh Ahmed Al-Hawashi.

3. Reciting the well-known Tajweed, about an hour and a half is enough for the part, and more than forty hours for the end.

4. Reciting contemplation. One verse may be repeated a hundred times or more. It is correct that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, bowed and prostrated with one verse, which is the Almighty’s saying: (If You chastise them, then they are Your servants, and if You forgive them, then indeed You are the Mighty, the Wise.) He may read The humble person is a verse and reflects on it He contemplates and humbles himself until an hour or a night passes by him, and he is like that.

It is best to recite the Qur’an in a state of purity, but it is permissible to do so without purity, and touching the Qur’an in a state of purity is the best, and it is permissible to touch it without purity, especially for menstruating women and postpartum women when there is a need for that, especially for learning and reviewing for a long period of time, directly or from behind a barrier, in a book or device, the Imam said. Ibn Khuzaymah (Sahih): “The remembrance of God in a state of purity is better, not the remembrance of God in an unpurified state is forbidden,” since the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to recite the Qur’an in a state other than purity. “And the Qur’an is the best of remembrance,” and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to remember God on "All the time"

The evidence cited by scholars in prohibiting anyone who is not pure from touching the Qur’an is divided into two categories:

1- It is authentic and not explicit, such as the Almighty’s saying: (None touch it except the purified), and this is the strongest of what they use as evidence, and there is no evidence for it since what is meant by the purified in this verse is: angels and not humans. The disbelievers used to say that the devils descended upon it, so God Almighty said: (And what is meant by the purified) in this verse? The devils descended therewith * and it is not for them, nor are they able * that they are isolated from hearing.) And God Almighty said: (Indeed, it is a noble Qur’an * in a hidden book * which cannot be touched Except those who are purified.) And his saying (he shall not touch him) is a predicate, not an establishment, and (no) here is a negation, not a prohibition. Al-Halimi said (Shu’ab al-Iman: 3/444): “And we know that there is nothing in heaven except a purifier. This indicates that what is intended is to clarify that the angels only reach That book is because they are purified, and the purified is: the one who facilitates worship and is pleased with it.

2- Explicit and incorrect, as in some hadiths, and its details are discussed elsewhere.
