The Sunni Association in Iraq / Sunnahs of fasting
In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the Master of Messengers and his family. All his followers, as for what follows:
Among the best Sunnahs and recommended things in Ramadan are:
1. Suhoor, even if it is a gulp of water, the best of which are dates and something similar. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: [A good suhoor for a believer is dates]
2. Do a lot of dhikr, prayer, and recitation of the Qur’an, as it is his month and his time. In the two Sahih books, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the most generous of people, and he was the most generous in Ramadan when Gabriel met him. He used to meet him every night of Ramadan and study the Qur’an with him. The Messenger of God May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he is more generous with goodness than the blowing wind.
3. Being generous, providing food, and giving a lot of charity. The Almighty said: (And they feed food out of love for it to the poor, and the orphan, and the captive. * We only feed you for the sake of God. We do not desire from you any recompense or gratitude.) Madhi and Ibn Majah, on the authority of Abdullah bin Salam, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, presented So the first thing I heard him speak was that: [O people, spread the greetings, provide food, maintain family ties, and pray at night while the people sleep. Enter Paradise in peace.] And God loves generosity even if it is just a few dates, and He loves courage even if it kills snakes.
4. The desirability of breaking the fast for the fasting people and preparing the invaders and the stationed people is confirmed in Al-Sunan on the authority of Zayd bin Khaled Al-Juhani, who said that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: [Whoever breaks the fast for a fasting person will have a reward similar to his, except that it is not “Cut something from the reward of the fasting person,” and in Al-Bayhaqi: “Whoever breaks the fast of a fasting person.” Or he prepares a raider, he will have a reward similar to his reward.] Sahih Al-Jami’ (6414), and especially in these lean years, how many poor people have disgraced and how many hungry stomachs have been in Ramadan and at other times, on the authority of Ibn Umar, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: [The most beloved of people to God are those who benefit them and the most beloved of deeds to God Almighty. It is a pleasure that you bring to a Muslim, or relieve him of distress, or pay off a debt for him, or drive away hunger from him. If I walk with my Muslim brother in a need, it is more beloved to me than secluding myself in the mosque for a month.] Narrated by Ibn Abi Al-Dunya. Sahih Al-Jami’ (176)
5. Hastening to break the fast before the Maghrib prayer. In the Two Sahihs, on the authority of Sahl, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: [People will continue to be well as long as they hasten to break the fast.] And in Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, on the authority of him, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: [My nation will continue to follow my Sunnah. What's wrong? She waits by her nature for the stars] Sahih Al-Targheeb (1074)
6. Break the fast with soft drinks, and if that is not possible, then dates, and if that is not possible, then water, or any sweets, food, or drink.
7. Investigating the supplication during fasting, especially when breaking the fast, in Ibn Majah on the authority of Abdullah bin Amr, who said that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: [The fasting person, when he breaks his fast, has a supplication that is not wanted.] Ibn Abi Mulaika said: Ibn Amr said, “When he breaks his fast, O God, I ask You for Your mercy that She sought everything to forgive me.
8. The fasting person says when he breaks his fast: What was reported in Abu Dawud on the authority of Ibn Umar, who said that when the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, broke his fast, he would say: [The thirst has gone, the veins are wet, and the reward is constant, God willing].
9. Avoid extravagance in permissible things, such as eating, drinking, shopping, sleeping, etc. God Almighty said: (O children of Adam, take your adornment at every mosque, and eat and drink, but do not be extravagant. Indeed, He does not like the extravagant.) And in our time, people are creative in consuming extravagance. Raf, as if they did not read the norms.
O God, grant us success, forgiveness, and well-being, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family. All his followers.
