About the Association
Foundation Reasons: The need of the times and a desire for institutionalized work led to the creation of a gathering for the mature Sunni stream to invigorate and rationalize the call in Iraq. This involved collaboration in righteousness and piety and integration with other active brethren in the field. More than 140 scholars, preachers, imams, and orators gathered in four conferences, culminating in the announcement of the establishment of "The Association of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah in Iraq" on September 22, 2012. It was officially registered in Turkey, with its headquarters opened in Istanbul. The association has representatives in Iraq, Turkey, Malaysia, Qatar, Jordan, Sudan, and other countries, and has been endorsed by many scholars and prominent figures.
Objectives:
Training personnel in Islamic jurisprudence and historical specializations.
Clarifying the methodology of the esteemed companions and the following imams.
Developing infrastructure for the call, including building mosques, religious schools, Quran memorization centers, Sharia and judicial institutes.
Exalting the status of Sharia (rites and laws) to embody the moderate approach, avoiding extremism and negligence.
Vision:
Achieving complete devotion to Allah Almighty and conveying the pure message of Islam as understood by the esteemed companions, allowing people to live under it, believing, safe, and happy.
Policies:
Preaching with wisdom, good advice, constructive dialogue, and avoiding controversy.
Being merciful to all creation.
Adhering to the scientific method.
The Project:
Adopting the Sunni project in thought and application, confronting Safavid populist thought, and returning to the true identity of the nation.
Correcting misconceptions in religious practice.
Purifying history and correcting falsehoods that have distorted the religion and civilization of the nation, learning from it as it represents the identity and voice of the nation, its history of glory, a lesson for its children, and a motivator for its generations for creativity and progress. The Quran records the bright aspects of its men's heroism, as nations and sects are known through their beliefs, achievements, and exploration of their history.
Reviving sincere advice for Muslim leaders and the general public.
Purification and education, and combating alien and deviant ideas that contradict our religion and history.
